The Winter Gala
GCDT's Gala originated in the spring during the company's early years, and was paired with the long running production of Alice in Wonderland. In 2017, when Alice in Wonderland expanded into two acts, The Gala was moved to the winter and paired with Cinderella. The Gala consists of concert dance pieces usually in the Ballet, Jazz and Contemporary genres of dance. The Company dancers star in the concert pieces featuring choreography from the Artistic Director and Resident Choreographers. The Adult Company also makes an appearance in a concert piece of their own.

Cinderella GCDT opens it's season with it's performance of the First Act of Cinderella. In 2017, GCDT premiered Cinderella and added it to the repertoire of Theater Productions. Cinderella is a massive undertaking and GCDT hopes to one day expand it into a full-length ballet. For now, we have paired it with the Winter Gala which makes for a diverse and exciting evening of dance. Gulf Coast Dance Theater's production of Cinderella adapts Sergei Prokofiev's brilliant musical masterpieces. The score sets the tune to the timeless childhood story of Cinderella, her Evil Step-Mother and Step-sisters, her Fairy Godmother with all of her magic, and of course her departure for the ball.
