The Company
Adult Company Division (18 & Over)
The Adult company consists of a diverse group of individuals that love theater and dance; Former professional dancers, former/current actors, alumni, teachers, parents, and anyone who just loves dance, and has some relevant dance training. The Adult Company joins the pre-professional company in our theater productions and are cast based on what is needed in our show. All adult dancers are invited to perform by the Artistic Director, or sponsored through a board member. Every Adult dancer pays a small fee to participate in the shows which covers their costume, and rehearsal time.

Pre-Professional Youth Company Division (12-18)
The Pre-professional Youth company consists of dancers 12 years old or older who have completed the audition process. After auditions, they are placed into the company as either an Apprentice, Corps de Ballet, Demi-Soloist, or Soloist, and receive their contracts. Once they commit to the season contract and pay the membership fee for the season, they will be cast according to rank, in our upcoming shows. Dancers perform in the theater and on the road at various community events. Rehearsals start in September and run (on Saturdays) through May.
These dancers are on a pre-professional career track, and have to maintain a regular training schedule in order to fulfill the requirements outlined in their contracts. Weekly class requirements include Ballet, Jazz and Contemporary classes. Weekly training requirements can be taken at the resident school or ANY other school of your choosing. We are open to dancers who train elsewhere to join our company for the extra performance opportunities and community outreach. |
Pre-Company Student Division (11 & Under)
The young dancers that make up the Pre-Company are ages 6 to 11 who have been invited to participate through the school at Gulf Coast Dancenter. Dancers must have completed at least one year of weekly dance classes at GCD prior to being invited. These dancers are invited because they have exemplified stellar classroom etiquette, and progress in their weekly classes.
