A breif outline of the contract and expectations
- During the school year, dancers must maintain a minimum of two ballet classes AND a jazz or contemporary class per week. Classes can be taken at any school dance program or local dance studio. No affiliation with Gulf Coast Dancenter is necessary.
- Over the summer dancers must complete at least 30 hours of dance total. Classes can be taken at any summer intensive or dance program (local, national, and/or international)
- Dancers must complete group community outreach service projects with Gulf Coast Dance Theater during their contract.
- Dancers must be able to rehearse with the company on Saturdays, and cannot miss more than two rehearsals per theater performance. Each theater performance rehearsal schedule runs for 8-9 consecutive weeks depending on the show.
- Parents/Guardians must complete volunteer hours.
- Company members must sell a minimum amount of tickets for productions.
More information on the contract is reviewed during the parent meeting before rehearsals start.
Membership FeeA membership fee is paid to the company at the start of the season in order to be a part of the pre-professional youth company. This fee of $300 covers the whole season of rehearsals, most costumes, photo shoots, and more. The reason we can keep the fee minimal is because of fundraising and sponsorships.
